The central section of the new Culdaff station is now complete. The signal box has been removed from the main platform; it will be relocated at the junction when the new line is laid. A small store has taken its place; this is a platelayer's hut kit from Modeltown. The kit is one of their Easy Build Models; apart from cleaning and painting, the only other work required was to fix the glazing and stick the roof on. In addition I cut a large hole in the floor to allow the hut to cover a wiring terminal for the station lighting. This was the reason for installing the hut, as the terminal was exposed when the signal cabin was removed. The water tower was removed from its previous position and after resealing the leaking tank and giving the tower a quick repaint; it was relocated to the end of the main platform. A cattle dock will be built in the area previously occupied by the water tower. The starter signal has also been moved, so that it now sits on the ramp, at the end of the platform.
